Hadrian's Wall

Celebrating its 1900’s birthday in 2022, Hadrian’s Wall is a UNESCO World Heritage site that is synonymous with Roman history in the UK. It is a dominating landscape feature that stretches an impressive 73 miles from coast to coast.

The wall is home to over 20 forts and small Roman towns, the ruins of which are open for exploration as a parts of overall English Heritage site. There are family friendly events, reenactments and demonstrations throughout the year, and artifacts and treasures from the vicinity of the wall can be found in plenty of local museums and exhibitions.
