Meet the Team

Like many in the hospitality sector my journey has taken many twists and turns. My first experience of hospitality at the age of 15 was at the Café Royal (Paganis) and Corner House Hotel in Annan. Following those early roles, I had further experience at Central Plaza Hotel in Carlisle. I knew then my passion and dream was to be in the hotel industry. What followed was four enjoyable years at Dumfries and Galloway College, graduating with a Diploma in Hospitality Management. 

It was when enjoying a family holiday at the Atholl Palace Hotel in Pitlochry that I ended up having a job interview there. To my delight I was offered a role which led to Deputy Catering Manager in 2000. Over the next three years I learned a lot, particularly from the General Manager and his management team. I will always be grateful to them for their guidance. 

Next on my hospitality path was the opportunity to sample city life in Edinburgh. I was appointed Wedding and Events Manager at The Point Hotel and this was followed by other roles such as PR / Events in a leading nightclub, Murrayfield stadium & Origin Events. One of my most memorable moments was planning Sean Connery’s birthday and chatting to him every year when he returned for the International Film Festival. I then moved back to Dumfries and Galloway working at Gretna Hall and also Easterbrook Hall in Dumfries. Prior to lockdown I was appointed Group Sales Manager at Shap Wells Hotel near Penrith.

In November 2020 I successfully applied for Wedding and Events Manager at The Fleece. I consider myself very fortunate to have been at the start of The Fleece journey, involved in creating what we see today.  

I have worked through many different departments in many companies, gaining valuable experience. I continue to face, and overcome, the challenges with my dyslexia and dyspraxia. It has all lead me to this point and I am proud and honoured to be now steering the ship.

In my spare time I enjoy doing ancestry work, as well spending time with my family and friends.

I also have two cats that I treat as my children – very spoiled!
